West Midlands Ambulance Service dispatched crews to Rivers Primary Academy & Nursery, Bloxwich yesterday evening.
Two bystanders witnessed a person being transported on a stretcher. There was also EMS personnel, police and firefighters at the scene.
Ambulance crews of West Midlands Ambulance Service treated a man at the scene and then transported him to hospital.
West Midlands Ambulance Service called us to a Mersey road incident in Walsall yesterday just after 5pm.
A paramedic, an ambulance, a Hazardous Areas Response Team (HART), and a Midlands Air Ambulance Critical Care Car were sent to the scene. Upon arrival, the crews discovered ONE male patient who had suffered serious injuries.
He was treated by an ambulance at the scene, before being transported to Walsall Hospital.
We were notified of an incident that occurred at Rivers Primary Academy, Livingstone Road in Bloxwich at 5:05pm, Thursday August 10,
Bloxwich firefighters and technical rescue teams from Sutton Coldfield, Wednesbury responded. Within five minutes, the first fire engine and a Walsall hydraulic aerial platform arrived.
A man who was working on the roof at the school sustained injuries as a result.
West Midlands Ambulance Service’s Hazardous Area Response team (HART), which assisted the firefighters.
The man was saved using a special stretcher and an aerial platform. Paramedics treated him and he was taken to Walsall Hospital.
“The incident was reported to West Midlands Police around 7 pm.
West Midlands Police has now referred the matter to Health and Safety Executive.
The force’s spokesman said that they were sent to Mersey Road, Bloxwich to help the West Midlands Ambulance Service.
“The Health and Safety Executive was notified by a hospital that a male patient had been admitted with a severe leg injury.”
