Tori Spelling warns other parents of mold-related illnesses and asks for their help. She claims that her family has suffered a “spiral sickness” because of mold.

Spelling’s husband Dean McDermott and her five children took to Instagram in this week asking for assistance finding a “mold attorney” where they reside, California.

Spelling wrote “Our troubles have reached a new level due to our mold issue and the house which has been slowly killing us since 3 years.” The family urgently needs assistance because “my kids have been sick for so long and are unable to recover.”

Spelling, who has four kids herself, shared on Instagram photos taken at a local urgent-care clinic earlier this month.

Spelling explained in the caption to her pictures that after months of “continuous sickness,” she began looking for solutions.

You used to assume that your children would bring sickness home from school. Spelling said, “They just keep bringing sicknesses back home.” But, once it became apparent that the children were more likely to be sick at home rather than attending school, then we needed to evaluate what was happening.

Spelling reported that symptoms among her children included skin rashes as well as extreme fatigue, nausea, respiratory infection, and fever. Ages of her five children vary from around 6 years old to about 16.

Spelling reported that an expert mold inspection company had found “extreme mold”, in the family home they said was rented.

“It was hard for me to leave a big family behind, when we were all so sick in bed.” She said. “But we are now going to vacate this home immediately.”

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention mold can cause a wide range of symptoms, from skin rashes and burnt eyes to coughing and sniffling and a sore neck.

The CDC states that mold could be more dangerous for asthmatics, people with mold allergies as well as those with chronic lung conditions and immune compromised people.

The CDC warns that mold in a home can come from a wide variety of places, including open vents, air conditioners, heating systems, or even clothing and shoes.

If you are looking to find mold inside your home, the CDC states that it appears as a spot and may be of different colors. This mold also smells musty.

A hidden mold may be present, and a professional will need to track down the source.

According to the CDC removing mold from the house should begin immediately. This can be done by either using soap, water, a special product for removing mold or a chlorine solution.

Environmental Protection Agency’s online guide includes detailed tips that can help prevent the growth of mold.

The agency has a tip on how to reduce moisture levels in your home.

Cleaning and repairing roof drains is recommended by the EPA. Also, keep your air conditioning system free of obstructions to avoid moisture buildup.

A moisture meter can also be used to measure indoor relative humidity.

The EPA suggests that you can reduce the humidity of your home by using a dehumidifier, opening windows or running exhaust vents when cooking, showering and doing dishes.
