Jocelyn Blondin is relieved that no one was injured

The city councilor in Gatineau (Quebec) is relieved that no injuries were reported after a fire tore his house Saturday night.

Fire crews were called to the home of Manoir-des-Trembles-Val-Tetreau Coun. Around 7 pm, Jocelyn Blondin was on Rue Chevalier-de Rouville.

Blondin said Radio-Canada that he had been about two blocks from the house when his neighbour called him to report it on fire.

He said the damage was “enormous”.

The living room has been finished. “The living room is finished.” Blondin in French said that the kitchen was also damaged by flooding.

The fire department in Gatineau said that the fire started up attic. In a press release, the fire department estimated that damage at around $225,000.

Officials said that the fire was not criminally motivated.

France Belisle, the mayor of Blondin’s city, said in a post on social media that they were standing with Blondin. They would provide any support possible.

Blondin expressed his gratitude that neither his wife nor their pets had been injured by the fire. The man said that they had already been offered several temporary accommodations while their home is uninhabitable.

Blondin stated, “I’m hoping it isn’t a complete loss.” “I don’t think so.”
