These attacks took place in two different neighborhoods: Vadillos and Rio Vena.
Burgos’ National Police has received three complaints of home robberies over the weekend. These incidents occurred in Vadillos and Rio Vena, but it is not ruled out that there will be more.
The thieves took advantage of tenants who were away from home between November 11th and 12th. Assailants forced the lock and left behind a piece of tape that was almost unnoticeable by residents but is a common code used by home burglars.
The neighbors found a total mess when they entered the homes. One of the victims explains, “They opened cabinets, drawers, and boxes to find jewelry. The Burgos National Police confirms this, stating that jewelry and cash are the most common targets, as it’s easier to leave without a trace.
This Monday, the Scientific Police visited affected houses to gather evidence. The Scientific Police cannot prove that the perpetrator or perpetrators are the same even though the method of operation in all three cases is similar.
The number of home invasions involving force during the first six months of 2023 increased by 22,6% in comparison to 2022. According to the Ministry of Interior’s Crime Study, from January 2022 to June 20,22 there were 234 registered crimes, but between January and June 2023, the number was 287.
